Security & Privacy
We know your church trusts you with sensitive information — names, families, donations, contact details. We take that responsibility seriously, so we built Altario with security at every level.
All your data is scrambled using bank-level encryption — both when it's stored and when it travels between your device and our servers. No one can read it except you.
Pastors, admins, and volunteers each get their own access level. A volunteer helping with events won't see donation records or private pastoral notes.
Online donations are handled by Stripe — the same payment system used by Amazon and Shopify. We never see or store your members' card numbers.
Your church's information belongs to your church. We will never sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it for anything other than running Altario for you. Period.
Your data is automatically backed up with enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure. If anything goes wrong, nothing is lost.
Altario automatically blocks spam sign-ups, brute-force password attempts, and suspicious activity — so you can focus on ministry, not security threats.
In short: your data is encrypted, access is controlled, payments are handled by Stripe, and we never share your information. Your church is in safe hands.

About Altario
The name Altario comes from the Latin root altar, the sacred centre of every church, the place where community gathers, where faith is lived out, and where ministry begins. We chose it because that's what we believe a church platform should be: not just a database, but the heart of how your congregation connects, grows, and is cared for.
I'm Sam Thangarasa, a church member and volunteer who spent years watching the people around me work incredibly hard to serve their congregation and struggle just as hard to keep up with the tools they had.
The problem was never dedication. It was that the software out there was either built for corporations and forced into a church context, or so complicated that only one person in the building knew how to use it. Members slipped through the cracks. Announcements got missed. Follow-ups never happened. Pastoral care became reactive instead of intentional, not because anyone stopped caring, but because there was no simple way to stay on top of it all.
It was my sister who first put the idea in my head. She saw the same gap I did and told me to stop talking about it and start building. My wife kept me on track along the way, helping me shape what Altario should actually look and feel like.
I built Altario because the local church deserves better. Not a watered-down business tool. Not a $500/month enterprise platform. Something built from the ground up for the way churches actually work, with warmth, simplicity, and the congregation at the centre of everything.
Every church has an altar. Altario helps you take care of the people around it.
